This course is designed to introduce the student to Information Systems. The course starts with an introduction to Information Systems, why we use them, and the benefits of good data, as well as how to develop an Information System. It then goes on to discuss the Computer Hierarchy in detail, including what a manager should know about Computer Hardware and Primary and Secondary storage devices. Computer Software is also discussed and Database elements are also covered. The course aims to assist anyone that would like to broaden their knowledge regarding the purpose of specific Information Systems.
