The Rules

  1. Referrals 
  • Participants may share their unique URL anywhere, as many times as they like, and with whomever they like. 
  • A referral is defined as somebody signing up to the platform using a participant’s unique link. Participants acquire the Community Builder badge after 1 successful referral, and earn 1 point for each successful referral thereafter.
  • The most successful referrer (most unique referrals) each week will win prizes. Participants cannot win this prize more than once. Winners will be drawn at midday every Tuesday. 
  • The most successful Community Builder overall at the end of the campaign will win a year of free data. Winner announced from 17 July 2020. 

2. Polish your Profile 

  • This challenge has 2 parts. Eligibility for the prize only occurs if both parts are completed.
  • The first half requires participants to take a headshot based on the guidelines provided. They are then required to upload this picture to their Trusted Interns profile and make it their profile picture. Only once their headshot has been made their profile picture will this part of the challenge be considered complete. 
  • Participants are encouraged to share their headshot on social media like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook etc. with the hashtag #GlobalYouth. 
  • The second half of the challenge requires participants to watch a short webinar hosted by a Trusted Mentor about popular CV mistakes. Thereafter, participants will need to complete a quiz based on the content of the webinar and achieve a score of 80% or more. Once they get 80% or above, they will have completed the challenge, and they will receive a badge on their profile.
  • The winner of this challenge will be determined by draw, and selecting a name at random. In order to gain automatic entry to the draw, participants will have to have the badge for this challenge i.e. have completed both the headshot and CV tasks. Sharing to social media with the hashtag #GlobalYouth gains participants an extra entry. 

3. If The Shoe Fits – 16 personalities

  • Participants will be required to complete the 16 personalities quiz. They will then have to upload their results to their Trusted Interns profile. 
  • Participants will then be required to join the group of like-minded individuals, other participants with the same personality type as them, in order to complete the challenge. Participants who complete the challenge will receive a badge. 
  • Participants will learn about themselves, and their strengths. This will work to their advantage as they will be able to offer this information in professional environments, and know where they add value. 
  • The winner of this challenge will be determined by draw, and selecting a name at random. In order to gain automatic entry to the draw, participants will have to have the badge for this challenge.

4.Professional Communication 

  • Participants will be required to complete a short online course on professional communication. They will learn how to engage with employers and colleagues in different formats and scenarios, similar to ones that they would face in reality. 
  • Participants will be required to complete multiple choice quizzes based on what they have learned. Once all the quizzes are completed, participants will receive a badge. 

The winner of this challenge will be determined by draw, and selecting a name at random. In order to gain automatic entry to the draw, participants will have to have the badge for this challenge.

5. Gitlab Remote Certification 

  • Gitlab’s remote work certification course will give participants a holistic crash course of the skills required to work remotely. At the end of the online course, participants will receive a certificate from Gitlab. They will have to upload this certificate to their profiles in order to receive a badge. 
  • Participants will be able to gain insight into the skills they need to develop before applying for remote work, and they will also be able to show employers that they are ‘qualified’ to work remotely. 
  • The winner of this challenge will be determined by draw, and selecting a name at random. In order to gain automatic entry to the draw, participants will have to have the badge for this challenge. 
  • Once all 5 challenges have been completed, candidates will be considered Remote Work Ready!
