GLOBAL WINNERS

Nakita Madikizela

WEEK 1 GLOBAL BUNDLE WINNER!

“I feel that I deserve this online course, I have always wanted to dig deeper into learning about creative thinking with the hopes of starting my own business that will answer a great problem within many communities some day. I’ve done this to hopefully contribute also creatively in communities who would need such thinking because I firmly believe that creative thinkers have the ability to provide so many solutions to wicked problems, above and beyond the efforts of our government. This belief, along with my experience of growing up in a small community with barely any creative thinkers fuelling it, would motivate me to do this course as I don’t want children growing up in these type of communities anymore.”

Nokukhanya Mazibuko

WEEK 1 LARGE BUNDLE WINNER!

“I believe I deserve this online course opportunity because I love learning. Over the past two years I’ve been taking online course for free from Udemy. I’ve managed to open a Small book club for young girls around my community to help them in learning and speaking English. I will use the same leardership mindset to complete this online course with a focus on starting my business. What would motivate me more to complete the online course is the flexibility the online course comes with it and I’m certain the course will open great Networking opportunities for me.”

Keneilwe Manganya

WEEK 2 LARGE BUNDLE WINNER!

“I have found a great deal of interest in the Social and creative entrepreneurship space over the past year, through working on a British Council funded project. It is here where I learnt about the power of creativity to heal our societies and to empower the youth. In addition, the need to put people before profit. My dream is to introduce the concept of the scrap store to many poor townships around South Africa, through operating my own scrap store. A scrap store works on the basis of collecting scrap and selling it to the Public to encourage children’s play and creativity. Scrap refers to any materials such as foam, foil, paint, wool etc. that can be used to foster creative thinking for children.”

Brandon Reder

WEEK 3 LARGE BUNDLE WINNER!

“Something we, as a global nation, are facing at the moment, due to a certain pandemic, is unemployment. A lot of people have lost their been retrenched or lost their jobs, myself included. I feel, the reason I was chosen to be retrenched is that I was “replaceable”. I didn’t have enough skills and experience as some of my peers. I want to ensure that I do everything in my power to ensure I set myself apart from the crowd and have so many skills and so much knowledge that I am one of the biggest assets a future employer could have. I absolutely love learning and exploring uncharted waters. There are so many great institutions that provide great platforms and have many great courses on offer. Unfortunately, they come with a cost, which is to be expected for the value they are providing. I thus can’t partake at the moment due to a lack of income.”

Shreshka Singh

WEEK 4 LARGE BUNDLE WINNER!

“As an ambitious Marketing graduate, who is not only passionate about learning about marketing in the creative and digital sphere but using that knowledge to drive creative solutions, it has been disheartening trying for almost 2 years to garner practical experience yet not being able to due to financial constraints. I have felt alone in my pursuit to reach my dreams but I am thankful for the newfound hope Trusted Interns has given me. My dream has always been to further my education in order to become better at my craft and give back to the world especially the youth because I know what it is like to be restricted as one. Without having monetary means to get to opportunities, I have relied heavily on free online courses for almost the past two years to help me upskill. I have dedicated almost my entire youth to education and spend long hours everyday on my own trying to better myself through the use of it. I truly believe this will help open doors that have been shut for so long and left me feeling hopeless despite hard work and self belief. Moreover, I believe the knowledge I would garner from an opportunity like this would help me enhance the knowledge of others through shared perspective. At the end of the day. we are better together. “
