Word of Mouth (WOM) is a social enterprise changing the way the informal economy trades. Our digital market place connects informal micro-enterprises with local customers living in informal settlements (townships) looking for their services or products.Whether a resident of a township needs to paint their nails, get their hair done, or buy the latest sneaker, we are building the one-stop platform they can trust. Informal businesses (Partners) that sign-up pay commission on each job completed, and also benefit from access to formal supply chains, the marketplace, and training so they can grow with their businesses.
Ultimately this role will be responsible creating and maintaining meaningful relationships with our Partners in Gauteng, so we can build a highly engaged platform of informal entrepreneurs that can reach their potential.
The role gives the successful candidate the opportunity to shape not just WOM’s future but also the future of the informal economy, like being in the front row of The Soil’s first gig, or maybe Steve Job’s garage. You decide.
Manage the Partner and Driver acquisition funnel to achieve onboarding targets. This involves: posting of the opportunity online, telephonic screening and running face-to-face and virtual onboarding sessions
Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders related to Partner acquisition, such as churches, NGO’s, ward councilors and youth development organisations
Manage and train oine sales agents to onboard new product Partners in the locations
Compile reports and provide regular insights and learnings to the Product Operations Manager on the effectiveness of the Partner and Driver recruitment process and channel
Keep relevant systems related to Partner and Driver recruitment up to date e.g. (upload and manage driver profiles and update data related to application status for Partners)
+1 years’ experience in Human Resources, Recruitment or Operations role
English and either isiZulu or seSotho speaking
Strong MS Oce and Excel skills
Start-up experience preferable
Good at adopting new technology and someone who enjoys using technology to improve eciency and solve problems (we use Airtable, Slack, Stacker and Asana)
Adaptable individual, comfortable with ambiguity and constant change
Highly driven individual who loves meeting targets
Excellent communication (both written and spoken) and presentation skills
A passion for people and strong relationship building skills
An organised individual with a proven ability to execute projects in a consistent and reliable manner
